Class Descriptions
Yoga Basics
For beginner students and for those who prefer practice at a moderate pace. Class combines movement, meditation, and breathing to stimulate strength, flexibility, relaxation and self awareness. Instruction, physical assists and demonstrations are provided. Classroom is heated to 78º.
Power Vinyasa Yoga
For students who have completed at least one Yoga Basics class. Students move consistently from pose to pose with alignment, detailed awareness and breathing techniques. Class is athletic and physically challenging. Verbal and hands on guidance provided, classroom heated to 81º.
Slow Flow Yoga
Simple movement from pose to pose using breath and awareness. Students will develop strength and flexibility while releasing stess and tension through breath and gentle asana (yoga poses). A great deal of verbal guidance provided as well as modeling and physical assistance. Great for new students or those looking for a gentle practice.
Gentle/Moderate Classes
These classes can accommodate new as well as advancing students and are modified by the instructor to take into consideration the level of those present. There might be more verbal instruction given in these classes as well as the offer of physical assistance and support in poses from time to time while respecting the personal space needs and requests of students.
Restorative Yogaaahhh
Restorative Yoga is an excellent antidote to a hectic lifestyle and is especially beneficial when a more gentle or therapeutic practice is desired! Breathing improves and stress-related conditions are alleviated by passively stretching muscles, stimulating and soothing the organs and glands, opening the lungs, and providing a gentle traction to the spine. An inverted pose at the end of the practice will assist in returning blood and lymph fluid to the upper body and strengthening the heart. There are no standing poses; instead bolsters, pillows and blankets are used to provide a completely safe and supportive environment for the release of deep-seated inner tension.
Iyengar Yoga
Classes are based on Iyengar yoga with emphasis on pose alignment, strength, flexibility, flow, supported poses, inner awareness and finding an inner peace. Build body & mind awareness, learn to live in the present moment. Recharge for the coming week and gain the insight & feeling that all is well again.
